Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner
This is designed for those who work, or would like to work, in a supporting role with children. You need to be employed or a volunteer in a childcare or early years setting. Your trainer and assessor will visit you regularly in your workplace. Assessment is by observation, assessment and an online portfolio of evidence, and the qualification typically takes from 6 months to a year.

Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
This is for those who want to work unsupervised in a wide range of settings as a Childminder, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Practitioner, supervisor or manager. You will need to working in an early years setting. In order for this qualification to be considered a full and relevant level 3 qualification, you will also need to have achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent. Your trainer and assessor will visit you regularly in your workplace. Assessment is by observation, assessment and an online portfolio of evidence and the qualification takes 15 months to achieve.
