Who we are
Puffins Training was started in 1992 and became a limited company in 2003. We began by offering NVQs in Early Years Care and Education to staff of our sister company, Puffins of Exeter. Today, we offer a wide range of Early Years training to both experienced staff and those who want to achieve qualifications through work-based learning. A significant part of our training takes place in the workplace; however, we also have a fully equipped training suite in Exeter.
The majority of the apprentices that we train work for our sister company, Puffins of Exeter Ltd, but we can deliver apprenticeships at all levels anywhere in the Exeter or surrounding areas.
The Puffins Training team is made up of vocationally qualified staff, who have worked as early years practitioners and managers, before training as Learning and Skills teachers in order to train other staff. All keep up to date with regular professional development days at nursery settings and have, or are working towards, qualified teacher, learning and skills status. Find out more about our team here.

Working in partnership with SWATPro
Swatpro is a not for profit partnership of training providers that applies for and accesses funding for Apprenticeships. This funding is then passed on to Puffins as a subcontractor to enable us to support and fund apprenticeship learning. Swatpro supports learners and businesses with apprenticeships and training throughout the South West and the rest of England. Their training partners work across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol.
